Development Projects and Industry Support

Global Compliance Initiative (GCI) brings practical experience in factory-level compliance improvement, occupational health and safety, environmental and social assessments, sustainability programmes and management system implementation support. Our project experience includes assignments delivered through development programmes and industry-focused initiatives in Bangladesh and beyond.

Selected Project Experience

1. GIZ-Supported Occupational Health and Safety Programmes

Provided training, risk-assessment support, advisory services and implementation backstopping to factories in the ready-made garment, textile, leather and footwear sectors. Relevant assignments included OHS management systems, ISO 45001:2018 implementation support, workplace risk assessment and follow-up activities.

2. GIZ-Supported MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX Programme

Provided advisory and backstopping support to 100 factories in Bangladesh to help them work towards MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX requirements, supporting improvements in sustainability and responsible manufacturing practices.

3. World Bank-Funded Environmental, Social and Quality (ESQ) Assessments

Contributed to baseline assessments and gap analysis covering environmental, social and quality-management requirements in leather and leather goods, footwear, plastics and light-engineering industries.

4. Factory-Level Training and COVID-19 Management Support

Delivered training and backstopping support related to occupational health and safety and COVID-19 management systems for factories under relevant development programmes.

5. Sustainability and Environmental Compliance Support

Supported factory-level environmental and sustainability initiatives covering Higg FEM-related assessments, chemical management, energy and greenhouse gas management, water and wastewater, waste management and environmental performance improvement.

6. Sustainability Reporting Support

Contributed to sustainability reporting activities, including reporting profile, governance, materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement, drawing on GRI Standards-related learning and reporting experience.
